Job Description
A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for a self-contained Life Skills classroom serving students in grades K-2. This contract position offers an engaging environment in an elementary school setting within the Indianapolis, IN area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with life skills needs.
- Deliver specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting for students in kindergarten through second grade.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with special education regulations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment to support student development and learning.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid special education teaching certification.
- Experience working with life skills students in a self-contained classroom, preferably within elementary grades.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral management techniques and differentiated instruction.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instructional practices to meet diverse student needs.
Location: This position is based in Indianapolis, IN, serving an elementary school student population.
This contract role offers an hourly pay range of $35 to $43, reflecting experience and qualifications.
