Job Description

This contract position is for a Special Education Teacher focused on elementary-level students, located in Wilmington, DE, at an elementary school. The role supports students with autism and requires a committed and licensed educator to join the team from early February to mid-June.

Key Details:

  • Location: Wilmington, DE
  • Contract Duration: February 3, 2026 June 11, 2026
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:25 AM to 3:55 PM, including a 30-minute paid lunch (37.5 hours per week)
  • Caseload: One opening specializing in Autism
  • Requirements: Valid Delaware Special Education Teaching license (please be prepared to provide a PDF of your license and resume upon application)
  • Additional Note: Candidates must agree to an $85 cost for CBC fingerprinting prior to placement

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique learning needs
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support student progress and inclusion
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning and growth

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Delaware Special Education Teaching license (mandatory)
  • Experience working with elementary students, preferably with autism spectrum disorder
  • Strong understanding of special education best practices and state regulations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
