Qualifications:

• Valid Louisiana Department of Education teaching certificate with SPED endorsement (required)
• Active licensure; candidates in-licensure processes or holding temporary authorizations will not be considered
• Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Able to pass district-required drug screening and fingerprint background checks
• Adaptable to different age groups and flexible with assignments across multiple schools, as needed
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction to students with identified special needs, following IEP goals
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote students academic and behavioral growth
• Employ evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions tailored to various disability categories
• Maintain accurate records and data to monitor student progress and compliance
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
• Remain current with special education laws and best practices in the field
