Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for a K-12 school in New Orleans, LA. This contract opportunity runs through the current school year, with a start date as soon as possible and an end date of May 22, 2026. The role requires an active Louisiana DOE certification and compliance with district-mandated drug screening and fingerprinting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instructional support to students with diverse learning needs across K-12 grade levels.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each students unique requirements.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and administration to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district and state regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana DOE Special Education certification is mandatory.
  • Proven experience working with K-12 populations in a special education setting.
  • Ability to manage caseload effectively in a dynamic school environment.
  • Successful completion of required district credentials, including drug screening and fingerprinting.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, 35 hours per week.
  • Monday through Friday aligned with the school calendar.
  • Daily schedule includes 7 hours of work plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch.

Candidates must be fully certified and ready to work immediately, as the district requires those not undergoing a licensing process. This is a time-sensitive assignment with multiple positions available.
