Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with students on the autism spectrum, preferably in a classroom setting
- Familiarity with evidence-based instructional strategies for students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with colleagues and families
- Commitment to fostering a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment
What Youll Do:
- Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to student IEPs
- Develop and implement curriculum focused on academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Maintain detailed progress records and prepare reports for meetings and parents
- Collaborate closely with classroom aides, therapists, and administrative staff
- Engage regularly with families to communicate progress and offer support strategies
- Participate in team meetings, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities
As part of this dynamic role based near both New Haven and Fairfield, youll have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of children with autism. Compensation for this position starts at $40 and above per hour.
