Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting students growth as a Special Education Teacher in a Social Emotional Behavioral (SEB) classroom for grades 35. This contract opportunity is based near New Britain, CT, with an assignment at just one school, giving you the chance to make a sustained impact within a tight-knit community.

Youll begin as soon as possible, with your assignment running through June 13, 2026, and resuming after summer break from September 1 to October 15, 2026. Work full-time, enjoying a consistent daily schedule from 8:20 am to 3:40 pm.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) license is required
  • Experience teaching students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs
  • Passion for working with elementary-aged children (grades 35)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet a variety of learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted instruction to meet each students Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
  • Support students social and emotional development in a structured, supportive environment
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
  • Develop and implement behavior intervention strategies
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment
