Job Description

Passionate about supporting students in special education settings? Heres an opportunity to make an impact throughout the 2026-2027 school year as an onsite Special Education Teacher. This full-time, contract role runs from August 10, 2026, to June 11, 2027, and features an itinerant Sub assignment structure. Youll have the chance to work across multiple classrooms and programs, stepping in to assist where your expertise is needed mostwhether that means covering teacher absences, fulfilling long-term vacancies, or delivering support in diverse learning environments.

Ideal candidates are adaptable, skilled at connecting quickly with new student groups, and confident in responding to a wide range of academic, behavioral, and developmental needs. You will play a crucial role in providing exceptional instruction and fostering positive, supportive environments for every student.

Qualifications:

  • Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required/preferred per specific assignment)
  • Demonstrated experience teaching in special education classrooms
  • Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and specialized instructional strategies
  • Strong skills in classroom management and behavioral support
  • Collaborative mindset; able to work effectively with paraprofessionals, service providers, and families
  • Flexible approach to support various classrooms and programs

Preferred Experience:

  • Autism support, emotional support, or multiple disabilities program experience
  • Background in behavioral health or IU/specialized school settings

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality instruction to students with diverse needs in different classroom environments
  • Implement individualized education plans and adapt teaching strategies as required
  • Collaborate with staff and families to ensure holistic student support
  • Adapt smoothly to different classrooms and caseloads as assigned
