Job Description

This full-time opportunity spans the 20262027 school year, where you'll be part of a dedicated network of special education professionals onsite. As an itinerant Sub special education teacher, your expertise will facilitate continuity of instruction across various classrooms and locations, stepping in for temporary assignments such as vacancies or leaves.

Qualifications & Desired Experience

  • Active or eligible Pennsylvania Special Education certification (required or preferred, depending on assignment)
  • Solid background in special education classrooms, serving students across the K12 continuum
  • Demonstrated skill in implementing IEPs and adapting instruction to meet unique student goals
  • Strong classroom management paired with adept behavioral support strategies
  • History of collaborating effectively with paraprofessionals, related service teams, and families
  • Flexibility to provide coverage and support in multiple classrooms and specialized programs

Preferred Background

  • Experience in Autism Support, Emotional Support, Multiple Disabilities, or Behavioral Health classrooms
  • Work history within Intermediate Units or specialized school settings

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly integrate into diverse classroom environments and support both short- and long-term instructional needs
  • Deliver specialized instruction based on each students IEP
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom climate focused on growth and achievement
  • Partner with service providers and families to promote student development
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of student programs and progress
