This full-time role is ideal for a dedicated Special Education Teacher who thrives on creating a supportive, structured atmosphere for students with behavioral needs. In this position, you'll be an integral part of an AIM program, focusing on both push in and pull out instruction designed to help students achieve academic and behavioral success.
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) certification is required
- Previous experience working with middle school-aged students, particularly those with behavioral challenges, strongly preferred
- Familiarity with push in/pull out service delivery models
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Provide both push in and pull out instruction for behavioral middle school students as part of the AIM program
- Develop, review, and adapt IEP goals tailored to each students unique needs
- Employ effective strategies to support academic and behavioral growth
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, behavior specialists, support staff, and families
- Monitor and report on student progress, maintaining accurate and timely records
- Attend team meetings, professional development, and other required school functions during working hours (MS 7:25-2:40)
- Maintain a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and success
Worksite details include assignment to one middle school campus, with full-time hours expected from ASAP through the end of the academic year.
