Job Description

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education
  • Experience working with students in at least one of the following grade bands: Early Childhood, Kindergarten, Elementary (K-5), Middle (6-8), or High School (9-12)
  • Proficiency teaching core subjects, especially Math, modified for diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and inclusive classroom practices
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for supporting students across different grade levels and abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students from Pre-K through 12th grade
  • Design lesson plans that address a range of abilities, ensuring access to the general curriculum
  • Implement and track progress towards IEP goals, communicating regularly with parents and multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize various teaching strategies and classroom management techniques
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and respectful classroom culture
  • Participate in professional development to remain current with best practices in special education
