Make a difference in the lives of elementary students as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive therapeutic day school environment. This onsite contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to work directly with a self-contained caseload, helping students reach their fullest potential through individualized and compassionate instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Illinois teaching license with LBS1 endorsement
- Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience working in an elementary, self-contained classroom setting (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and effective classroom management strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the unique needs of students in a self-contained therapeutic classroom
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages growth and development
- Participate in ongoing communication with families, administrators, and support staff to ensure student progress and well-being
- Collect and analyze student data to drive instructional decision-making
- Support students academic, social, and emotional development using evidence-based practices

Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $45.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
