This full-time contract position focuses on delivering tailored instruction to students in grades K through 3, fostering both their academic and social-emotional growth in a supportive school environment. Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Professional Educators License (PEL) for Illinois, issued by ISBE
- Demonstrated background as a Special Education Teacher, particularly with school-aged children
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- In-depth understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and evidence-based teaching practices
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility, patience, and compassion are essential
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to K-3 students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Adapt general curriculum and classroom environment to meet individual student needs
- Develop, write, and implement IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting methods as needed
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and administration
- Participate in professional development and ongoing team meetings
