Key qualifications:

  • Hold a valid Professional Educators License (PEL) for Illinois schools, issued by ISBE
  • Experience or strong interest in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and behavioral needs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Demonstrated knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs), behavioral interventions, and differentiated instruction
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom climate

Role responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to diverse student needs
  • Promote positive behavioral supports and interventions to facilitate learning and growth
  • Monitor and document student progress, adapting strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
  • Maintain open, professional communication with families and related service providers
  • Uphold compliance with state and district special education regulations
