Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in Oak Lawn, IL, supporting Kindergarten and 1st-grade students. This contract role begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year, offering 35 hours per week in a structured school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of young learners in Kindergarten and 1st grade.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state guidelines.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to ensure academic growth and social development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Special Education Teacher License with LBS1 endorsement.
  • Experience working with early elementary students in special education settings.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive and supportive classroom environments.
