Job Description

A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available, focusing on Kindergarten and 1st grade students. This contract runs from the start date as soon as possible through the end of the school year. The role requires a dedicated educator licensed in Illinois with an LBS1 credential.

Location: Oak Lawn, IL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized instruction tailored to the needs of special education students in Kindergarten and 1st grade.
  • Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to improve learning outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration.
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Illinois Special Education Teaching License with LBS1 endorsement is mandatory.
  • Proven experience working with early elementary students in special education.
  • Strong understanding of developmental milestones and individualized instruction strategies.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
