Make a profound difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting young learners in a dedicated communication disorder classroom for kindergarten through fourth grade. This full-time contract role provides the opportunity to work closely with a small caseload of 10 students, fostering their growth and academic success in a collaborative environment. Your expertise and compassion will help create a positive, tailored learning experience for each child.
Qualifications:
- Active IL LBS1 certification required
- Experience with communication disorders or specialized classrooms strongly preferred
- Ability to adapt instructional methods to meet individual needs
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
- Commitment to upholding a safe and inclusive learning environment
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized lesson plans targeting IEP goals
- Deliver instruction and support using evidence-based strategies
- Collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to facilitate student progress
- Monitor, document, and report on each childs development and milestones
- Manage the classroom proactively to encourage engagement and positive behavior
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing professional development
