Job Description
Make a meaningful difference supporting young learners with special needs as an itinerant special education teacher serving community preschools throughout the Morton, PA region. This contract assignment offers an engaging weekly schedule of 35 hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the opportunity to positively impact numerous communities.
Youll be responsible for a caseload of approximately 30 preschool students, providing services at multiple community preschool sites in areas including Lansdowne, Darby, Sharon Hill, Glenolden, Morton, Aston, Broomall, and Folcroft. As an itinerant teacher, your flexibility, strong communication, and organization will be key in supporting students educational growth across diverse settings. Comprehensive guidance and training are provided at the start, ensuring you feel prepared and supported in your role.
Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania certification in PK-4 and/or Special Education (candidates with emergency permits may be considered)
- Experience or genuine interest in supporting preschool-aged children with diverse special education needs
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to travel between multiple community preschool locations as part of the regular workweek
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based instruction and support to preschool students with special education needs across community sites
- Collaborate with families, educational teams, and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate records, progress monitoring, and timely communication with all stakeholders
- Foster inclusive, positive learning environments tailored to student needs
