Job Description

An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in an adaptive separate setting within two schools. This full-time contract role focuses on serving a caseload of eight students, providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instructional programs and interventions for elementary students requiring special education services
  • Collaborate with paraeducators and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning goals
  • Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district special education requirements
  • Participate in virtual panel interviews and comply with onboarding procedures, including fingerprinting and licensing verification

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid North Carolina Special Education teaching license required
  • Experience working within an adaptive separate setting or similar environment preferred
  • Ability to manage and deliver instruction to a small, focused caseload
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff and families

Position Details:

  • Location: Lincolnton, NC
  • Setting: Elementary School (2 schools assigned)
  • Schedule: Full-time, Contract for Current School Year (CSY)
  • Caseload: 8 elementary students
  • Support: Supervision provided by paraprofessionals or related support staff
