Youll play a pivotal role in the academic and personal development of 8 elementary-aged students, working across two close-knit schools near Mooresville, NC.
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a special education/adaptive program setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially when partnering with teams that may include paraprofessionals or related service providers
- Ability to adapt curricula and create individualized education plans (IEPs) for diverse learning needs
- Minimum associate or bachelors degree in Special Education (or related field), per state certification requirements
Responsibilities:
- Teach and support a caseload of 8 elementary students in an adaptive separate classroom environment
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each students unique strengths and areas of need
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and additional support personnel as needed
- Maintain clear documentation of student progress and actively participate in required meetings
- Ensure a positive, safe, and engaging classroom atmosphere, utilizing adaptive strategies and resources
