An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support elementary students in an adaptive separate setting within two schools. This full-time contract role focuses on serving a caseload of eight students, providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instructional programs and interventions for elementary students requiring special education services
- Collaborate with paraeducators and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse learning goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district special education requirements
- Participate in virtual panel interviews and comply with onboarding procedures, including fingerprinting and licensing verification
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Special Education teaching license required
- Experience working within an adaptive separate setting or similar environment preferred
- Ability to manage and deliver instruction to a small, focused caseload
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with school staff and families
Position Details:
- Location: Lincolnton, NC
- Setting: Elementary School (2 schools assigned)
- Schedule: Full-time, Contract for Current School Year (CSY)
- Caseload: 8 elementary students
- Support: Supervision provided by paraprofessionals or related support staff
