Qualifications and Experience:
- Current teaching certification in Special Education
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters preferred)
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and compliance
- Experience utilizing differentiated instruction and evidence-based practices
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with families, support staff, and other educators
- Patience, adaptability, and a strong commitment to inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to track progress and inform instruction
- Participate in IEP meetings, maintaining thorough documentation and aligning with district/state guidelines
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth
- Liaise effectively with general education teachers, therapists, and specialists to provide a coordinated approach
- Provide ongoing support to students through behavioral strategies, academic modifications, and social-emotional learning
