Your role will focus on designing individualized lesson plans, addressing each students unique strengths and needs, and maintaining strong communication with families and staff. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current North Carolina Adaptive Special Education licensure required
  • Prior experience teaching high school students in a special education setting strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset for working closely with teaching team and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver adaptive, engaging instruction to high school students in a classroom setting
  • Share caseload responsibilities with two other special education teachers
  • Maintain accurate student records and progress documentation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and ensure compliance with state requirements
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment

This contract assignment runs from April 13 to the end of the school year (EOSY), with a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours at a single site. The hiring process features a Zoom panel interview with the Special Education Director, and prompt hiring decisions are anticipated.
