Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity making a difference in the lives of students with special needs in the Minneapolis area! This full-time position is ideal for a compassionate and skilled Special Education Teacher seeking to support a dedicated elementary team within a cluster classroom setting.

Youll work directly alongside three paraprofessionals and have a manageable caseload of around 10 students, primarily in a center-based environment focused on students with Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The assignment is set to begin November 1, 2026, and runs through February 15, 2027.

What youll bring:

  • Valid licensure as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience working in center-based DCD/ASD classrooms preferred
  • Strong ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals and fellow educators
  • Commitment to providing individualized support and differentiated instruction
  • Effective communication with students, families, and staff
  • Readiness to work the onsite schedule of 7:20 am to 3:20 pm, Monday through Friday
  • Adaptability and positive energy in a dynamic learning environment

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the unique needs of your caseload
  • Foster an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment supporting student growth
  • Lead and coordinate with a team of paraprofessionals for optimal learning
  • Communicate progress and challenges with families and support staff
  • Maintain compliance with all necessary documentation and school guidelines
