Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
• Proven experience teaching upper elementary special education or resource classes
• Strong foundation in 5th grade English Language Arts and Math curriculum
• Background in IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teachers, students, and families
• Passion for differentiated instruction and creative problem solving

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted ELA and Math resource support to 5th grade students with diverse learning needs
• Develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and specialists to adapt lessons and materials
• Assess student progress and maintain detailed documentation of achievement
• Communicate effectively with families, sharing progress and strategies for support
• Create a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that fosters academic and social growth
