Job Description

Step into a meaningful contract position shaping the educational experience for students with special needs in a dynamic, supportive school setting near Minneapolis, MN. Multiple full-time opportunities are available for experienced Special Education Teachers, starting September 8, 2026, and continuing through June 4, 2027. With a commitment of 35 hours each week, youll work within specialized classrooms to foster academic, social, and personal growth for students who benefit from individualized support and alternative curriculum approaches.

Qualifications:

  • Valid MN Special Education (SPED) teaching license required
  • Experience working with students who have autism spectrum disorder, cognitive disabilities, or emotional behavioral disorders preferred
  • Familiarity with alternative and modified curriculum and adaptive technology, such as AAC devices
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Compassionate approach paired with demonstrated classroom management abilities
  • Willingness to assist with mobility, self-care needs, and daily living skills instruction

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the licensed teacher for center-based classrooms, working closely with groups ranging from 6 to 12 students
  • Develop and deliver instruction using alternative and modified curricula tailored to students academic and developmental profiles
  • Integrate adaptive equipment and communication devices into daily learning and routines
  • Foster the development of self-regulation and functional living skills
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and related service providers to support holistic student progress
  • Communicate regularly with families and the multidisciplinary team regarding student goals and achievements
