Job Description

Key Qualifications & Skills:

  • Hold an active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (EBD licensure strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience working with students exhibiting significant behavioral needs
  • Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
  • Proficient in behavior intervention strategies, de-escalation techniques, and classroom consultation
  • Committed to fostering open communication and collaborative relationships with staff and families

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous work in a K2 center-based special education setting
  • Familiarity with PBIS, CPI, or restorative practices
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed instructional methods

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead instruction and provide classroom support within a high-support EBD environment catering to approximately six elementary students
  • Develop, monitor, and update IEPs and BIPs to meet individual student needs
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure best outcomes for students
  • Create a safe, engaging, and responsive classroom atmosphere that fosters learning and positive behavior
  • Engage in regular communication with families, related service providers, and school staff
