Located in Minneapolis, MN, this full-time contract-to-hire position as a Special Education Director offers a critical leadership role for the 2026-2027 school year. This opportunity centers on ensuring compliance within the Minnesota special education system, working closely with a consulting company, school administration, and special education teachers to maintain regulatory standards and support program success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and ensure Minnesota special education compliance across the school district.
- Collaborate and coordinate efforts with an external consultant company to support special education services.
- Provide guidance and consultation to special education teachers and administrative staff.
- Manage extensive compliance paperwork and documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Deliver training and professional development to staff on specific compliance topics when needed.
- Support the development and implementation of special education policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Special Education license or Administrator certification with expertise in Minnesota special education compliance.
- Masters degree in education, special education, or a related field required.
- Proven understanding of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
- Strong organizational skills to manage large volumes of paperwork and documentation.
- Ability to communicate effectively with educators, administrators, and external consultants.
- Previous leadership or director-level experience in special education preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided if necessary.
