A full-time Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in Minneapolis, MN, supporting students in grades K-5. This contract position focuses on delivering instruction and managing IEP meetings for a resource caseload of 13 students. With all evaluations completed, the role emphasizes providing tailored educational support and fostering student progress within a collaborative school environment.
Responsibilities:
- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for K-5 students with special education needs
- Conduct and participate in IEP meetings to review student progress and adjust strategies
- Provide direct, resource-based instruction aligned with students goals and learning styles
- Collaborate with general education staff to ensure inclusive classroom support
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Manage daily classroom schedules, including planning instructional activities and interventions
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching certification (Reading endorsement preferred but not required)
- Experience working with elementary-aged students (grades K-5) in a special education setting
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment
- Commitment to student-centered instruction and collaboration
Schedule and Location:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 AM 3:10 PM
- Wednesday: 7:30 AM 4:10 PM
- Includes a 30-minute lunch and 80 minutes of planning time daily
- Location: Minneapolis, MN
