Job Description
Make an impact supporting students with a variety of learning needs in a dynamic special education setting. This contract opportunity offers seven openings across elementary and secondary levels, serving young people with autism, cognitive disabilities, and various special education needs. Positions are available immediately with contracts extending through June 11, 2026. All opportunities are on-site at multiple campuses in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, providing involvement with diverse student populations and specialized support teams.
In these roles, you may work in classrooms, itinerant settings, or provide homebound services. Caseloads range from small groups of 4-8 students (focused autism support) to larger groups up to 19 students in general resource settings. Specialized assignments include Setting 4 and Setting 3 programs, as well as early childhood special education, cognitive disabilities, and homebound services.
Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Special Education (required)
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders, developmental cognitive disabilities, or a range of special education needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and educational teams
- Flexibility to work at different campuses or provide homebound services as assigned
- Ability to uphold district, state, and federal guidelines in special education
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver specialized instruction based on each students IEP
- Assess, monitor, and document student progress
- Collaborate with general education staff, support teams, and families
- Adapt curriculum to meet students individual needs
- Participate in meetings, professional development, and compliance activities
