Job Description

A specialized opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to support students with severe disabilities in a K-12 setting. This position is based in Coon Rapids, MN, and focuses specifically on Setting 4 students, who present the highest behavioral challenges. The role is contracted for the current school year, beginning February 9, 2026, and concluding June 5, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students with complex behavioral and educational needs.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment conducive to learning for students with severe disabilities.
  • Track and report student progress regularly to families and school administration.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs of Setting 4 students.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota Tier 3 or Tier 4 Special Education teaching license is required.
  • Proven experience working with children who have severe disabilities and behavioral challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with staff, families, and support personnel.
  • Comfortable and prepared for the commute to Coon Rapids and handling the challenges of Setting 4.
  • Current resume and Minnesota teaching license must be submitted with the application.

Location:

  • This role is based at a specialized learning center located at 12211 Crooked Lake Blvd NW, Coon Rapids, MN.

Schedule:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
