Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred)
- Previous experience in a K-12 special education setting is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills
- Ability to modify curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Current knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction that meets students unique needs and abilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
- Track and report on student progress toward IEP goals
- Employ a variety of instructional strategies and resources to support inclusive education
- Manage behavior proactively using positive reinforcement techniques
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team planning sessions
