This full-time opportunity seeks a dedicated special education teacher to support students in a self-contained K-2 elementary setting. The role focuses on creating inclusive, supportive learning environments tailored to meet the unique needs of young learners with disabilities. This contract position runs from ASAP through May 2026, providing consistent, impactful support throughout the academic year.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals for students in grades K through 2
• Designing and adapting curriculum to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
• Collaborating with general education staff and support personnel to promote student progress
• Monitoring student performance and maintaining detailed records
• Creating a positive classroom culture that encourages student growth and independence
• Communicating regularly with families and stakeholders regarding student development

Qualifications and experience:

• Valid Virginia special education teaching license
• Experience working with young children in a self-contained special education setting
• Strong knowledge of special education strategies and compliance requirements
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for early childhood education and supporting diverse learners
