Job Description
Provide specialized one-on-one support to students with individualized needs in a K-12 educational setting in Metairie, LA. This full-time contract position offers an opportunity to work closely with a student in a 1:1 environment, fostering growth and development according to their unique learning requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to assigned student(s) on a one-on-one basis, adjusting strategies to meet educational goals.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to implement appropriate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Adhere to school district policies, including following the school calendar and daily schedules.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Louisiana Department of Education Special Education teaching certification without expiration or pending renewal.
- Experience working with K-12 students in special education, preferably in one-on-one settings.
- Ability to manage and adapt to varying student needs with patience and professionalism.
- Successful completion of mandated drug screening and fingerprinting specific to the school district.
- Ready to begin immediately and hit the ground running.
Position Details:
- Location: Metairie, Louisiana
- Contract Duration: Through May 22, 2026
- Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 7 hours daily plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch (approximately 35 hours per week)
- Student caseload and age range: To be assigned, focused on 1:1 student support
