Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting 7th and 8th grade students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic middle school setting near Mesa, AZ. This full-time contract opportunity runs from August 2026 through May 2027, with a 35-hour workweek. Your day will begin around 7:00am, allowing you to connect with students as they arrive and collaborate with colleagues throughout the day.
You will enjoy a varied caseload of approximately 24 students utilizing both push-in and pull-out service models. This means youll provide tailored instruction to small groups outside the general education classroom, as well as support students learning and inclusion within regular classes. Modern, fully equipped classrooms awaitwith interactive boards and instructional technology to enrich your teaching.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Current Arizona Special Education Teaching License required
- Experience working with middle school students strongly preferred
- Prior knowledge of developing and implementing IEPs a plus
- Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
- AZ IVP Fingerprint Card required prior to start
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated instruction for students with diverse learning needs
- Participate in IEP and MET meetings, contributing expertise and insights
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers and special education team members
- Document student progress and ensure compliance with special education regulations
- Utilize district-provided curriculum resources and participate in regular professional development
