Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Arizona Standard Secondary Teaching License and valid K-12 Special Education Certificate
  • IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (required)
  • Background working with students who have emotional disabilities or other exceptionalities
  • Experience addressing diverse student needs, including at-risk, limited English proficient, or ethnically diverse populations
  • Familiarity with life skills, behavioral support, self-regulation strategies, and functional academics
  • Knowledge of and experience with compliance for federal, state, and district special services procedures
  • Training in Essential Elements of Effective Instruction (E.E.E.I.) or willingness to participate in staff development
  • Ability to thrive in high-priority environments and demonstrate adaptability across a variety of classroom settings

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead innovative instruction in inclusion, SUCCESS, life skills/transition, and self-contained behavioral classrooms (e.g., STRIVE programs for grades 6-8)
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs, adapting approaches to meet the varied needs of students
  • Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment focused on personal growth and prosocial skills
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to ensure the highest level of support and advocacy for students
  • Maintain meticulous records and compliance for all service documentation
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and departmental alignment activities
