This school-based position allows you to play a vital role in fostering the growth, independence, and development of children who benefit from individualized educational approaches.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Ohio Special Education Teaching Certification required
- Experience with early elementary age groups (K-3) preferred
- Strong foundational knowledge of IEP development and special education law
- Ability to adapt instruction and classroom management to a variety of learning needs
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with parents, administrators, and support staff
- Compassion, patience, and a genuine commitment to student success
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to the unique needs of K-3 learners with disabilities
- Implement and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and maintain accurate documentation
- Partner closely with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure seamless inclusion
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth
- Engage regularly with families to communicate progress and address concerns
- Contribute to data-driven decision making through progress monitoring and assessments
This position covers a full-time schedule at 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in a welcoming school community dedicated to empowering every student.
