Job Description

Step into a meaningful part-time opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher. Located near Melvindale, MI, this contract role allows you to make a difference in a high school setting while working a manageable morning scheduleperfect for work-life balance.

Enjoy a consistent weekday routine, providing instruction and support to a caseload of 19 students. With 20 hours per week, spread over 4-hour morning shifts, youll bring your expertise to students who benefit from personalized guidance and encouragement.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Valid Special Education teaching certification (Michigan preferred)
  • Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs
  • Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with students, families, and support staff
  • Adaptability and creativity in lesson planning and delivering differentiated instruction
  • Previous experience in a school setting or similar environment

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction to high school students on your caseload
  • Develop, write, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Track, monitor, and document student progress toward learning goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service staff to ensure student success
  • Communicate regularly with families and guardians regarding student progress and needs
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, and ongoing staff collaboration
