Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students near McAllen, TX. This contract position provides the opportunity to foster academic growth and cultivate a positive learning environment for students with special needs during the 2026-2027 academic year.

As the special education teacher, you will work closely with students, families, and school staff to design, modify, and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) tailored to diverse learning needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring all students have access to resources and support to help them succeed academically and socially.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Texas EC (Early Childhood) Teacher Certification required
  • Experience in creating and implementing IEPs and progress monitoring preferred
  • Background in specialized instructional strategies and differentiated teaching techniques
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Passion for advocating for students with special needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted instruction that addresses each students unique strengths and challenges
  • Develop and update IEPs in compliance with legal and district guidelines
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, related service providers, and administrators
  • Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate ongoing progress and needs
  • Create an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere where all students feel valued

What to Expect:

  • Contracted position from August 11, 2026, to May 27, 2027
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
