This full-time contract position focuses on providing direct instructional support within a self-contained classroom setting for primary students in grades K-1. The assignment involves working at a single school site, allowing you to devote attention and care to a dedicated caseload each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Active LBS1 license required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably with primary-aged students
- Strong foundation in instructional approaches tailored for students with diverse learning needs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to partner with families, staff, and support personnel
- Ability to design, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead a self-contained classroom, creating a structured, nurturing learning environment for K-1 students
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned with IEP goals and student strengths
- Collaborate with related service providers, classroom assistants, and administrators to ensure comprehensive support
- Monitor student progress, maintain accurate documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth
