Support young learners as a dedicated special education teacher working with primary-aged students in a K-1 split, self-contained classroom. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to foster meaningful progress in a small, focused instructional setting. Youll work at one school site, guiding students through their day from 8:20 am to 3:05 pm, creating an inclusive environment where every child can thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid LBS1 license is required
• Experience or training in instructing primary-aged students, preferably within a special education environment
• Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to tailor lessons and interventions for diverse learning needs
• Excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Commitment to fostering independence, confidence, and academic success for all learners

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a self-contained classroom for students in grades K-1, providing differentiated instruction in accordance with IEPs and best practices in special education
• Develop and implement daily lesson plans that engage and support students of varying abilities
• Monitor and document student progress, collaborating with related service providers and participating in IEP meetings as needed
• Adapt teaching strategies based on ongoing assessment and classroom dynamics
• Build positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic growth
