Job Description
A high school intervention specialist is needed for the 2025-2026 school year to provide specialized instruction for students with varying behavioral needs in a self-contained special education setting.
Location: Massillon, OH
Employment Type: Contract (Current School Year)
Start Date: ASAP through May 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to high school students with special education needs
- Manage classroom behaviors ranging from mild to intense with appropriate interventions
- Collaborate with staff and families to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt teaching methods for both in-person and virtual learning environments
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience in self-contained special education environments
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong classroom management skills for diverse behavioral challenges
- Effective communication skills for partnering with students, families, and educators
