Job Description

Make a difference as a Special Education Teacher supporting students from kindergarten through 4th grade in a communication disorder classroom. This full-time contract position requires an enthusiastic and skilled professional dedicated to empowering young learners to achieve their goals in a supportive environment.

As a valued member of the educational team, you will work Monday through Friday, providing instruction and guidance to a caseload of 10 students. Your expertise will help create inclusive and individualized strategies that facilitate development and participation for each child.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with LBS1 endorsement
  • Experience or interest in working with students with communication disorders
  • Passion for supporting elementary-aged students academic and social growth
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain organized records and implement IEPs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans tailored to each student's needs
  • Collaborate closely with parents, staff, and related service providers
  • Assess student progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
  • Maintain detailed documentation to support students IEP goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable input to the team
  • Encourage student independence and self-advocacy
