Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and valid Alabama Special Education PreK-12 License
  • Experience working with students across a range of abilities in PreK-12th grade settings
  • Demonstrated skill in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Strong understanding of special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills, essential for working with educators, families, and support personnel
  • Ability to adapt lesson plans and instructional materials to diverse learning needs

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction to special education students within a classroom or small group setting
  • Develop and maintain IEPs, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements
  • Track and report student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development sessions
  • Create an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere where all students can thrive
