Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Minnesota special education teaching license is required
  • Experience teaching special education at the elementary, middle, or high school level
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture for diverse learners
  • Flexible, resourceful, and committed to meeting students individual needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Assess, monitor, and document student progress toward IEP goals
  • Develop lesson plans utilizing best practices in special education
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, support staff, and families to promote academic and social-emotional success
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team decisions regarding student programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance and communication
