Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching certification
  • Experience in an elementary setting preferred
  • Background working with students with autism, including knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to manage caseloads and foster family engagement
  • Skill in developing and adapting lesson plans to meet diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a caseload of 6 elementary-aged students identified with autism, providing tailored instruction to support their educational and social-emotional growth
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with staff, specialists, and families
  • Employ evidence-based strategies and accommodations to promote student participation and success
  • Maintain accurate records; track progress and update documentation as required
  • Communicate regularly with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that values student strengths and encourages independence
