Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a contract role serving young learners in a supportive, collaborative setting near Lowell, MA. Youll work with prekindergarten and kindergarten students in a sub-separate classroom, supported by four dedicated program assistants and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The smaller caseload allows for individualized approaches and a chance to truly shape students development.
Qualifications & Credentials:
- Valid Massachusetts SPED license required
- Experience working with early childhood or primary grade students preferred
- Ability to collaborate professionally with support staff and specialists
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, nurturing classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored special education instruction to a caseload of 6 students, ensuring each childs IEP goals are addressed and progress is monitored
- Engage with program assistants and BCBA for effective student support
- Create and implement lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate and differentiated for a range of abilities
- Maintain detailed records of student growth, behavior, and ongoing needs
- Communicate regularly with families and staff to promote student success
