Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid DESE license in moderate or severe special needs (required)
  • Previous experience teaching or supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, preferably at the high school level

  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
  • Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt instruction to meet diverse learner needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver tailored instruction for students with varying needs in high school special education programs
  • Collaborate with support staff, counselors, and administration in managing student behavior and developing strategies for success
  • Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, providing updates to families and team members
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives that support student growth
  • Create a positive, respectful, and engaging classroom environment that promotes student learning and emotional well-being
