Youll work within a supportive school community, with a single school assignment near the Lowell, MA area and a standard week of 37.5 hours.
Ideal Background and Skills:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching certification is required
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or classroom science instructor is desirable
- Ability to differentiate instruction, accommodating a diverse set of learning needs
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
- Experience with science curriculum for upper high school students (Chemistry focus preferred)
- Comfortable managing IEPs and collaborating on multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging Chemistry lessons for 11th and 12th grade classes, following established curriculum and educational standards
- Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate individual learning differences
- Evaluate student progress and adapt instructional methods as needed
- Manage classroom effectively to create a positive learning climate
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to best serve students
- Maintain accurate records and participate in parent communications and team meetings
- Support school-wide initiatives and contribute to a vibrant academic environment
