Job Description

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Illinois PEL License with LBS1 endorsement required
  • Special Education teaching experience in a school setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of ELA curriculum and effective classroom strategies
  • Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Passion for creating an inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans based on individual student IEPs
  • Provide targeted instruction in ELA to address unique learning needs
  • Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
  • Collaborate with IEP teams, attend meetings, and maintain accurate documentation
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment for all students
  • Communicate regularly with families, sharing progress and supporting student growth
