This contract role, located near Los Angeles, CA, offers the chance to make a direct impact by working with learners across a wide range of grade levelsfrom Pre-K and Kindergarten to grades K-5, middle school, and all the way through high school. You'll collaborate in inclusive classrooms, specialize in small-group interventions, and help children achieve their unique educational goals.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience with students at multiple grade levels (Pre-K through 12th grade)
- Expertise in adapting curriculum, especially in math, for students with diverse learning needs
- Strong understanding of IEP development, documentation, and implementation
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Compassion, patience, and a drive to foster a positive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction in various settings for students with special needs across all grade clusters
- Develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), monitoring student progress and updating goals as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to provide inclusive, engaging learning environments
- Adapt materials and teaching methods to meet students unique learning styles, with a particular focus on supporting mathematics achievement
- Communicate regularly with families to keep them informed and involved in their students growth
