This contract opportunity, located in the Longmont, CO area, seeks a dedicated Special Education Teacher to work hands-on with students who have significant support needs throughout the academic year.
From August through early June, you'll collaborate with a passionate school community, developing personalized learning strategies and fostering a supportive, inclusive environment. Enjoy a four-day workweek, Tuesday to Friday, allowing for greater work-life balance while dedicating 34 hours each week to championing student progress.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Current and valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education licensure required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with significant support needs (SSN) highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to students with varying abilities, focusing on individualized academic and functional goals
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and team members to create holistic and effective support plans
- Adapt curricula and teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each student
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and required documentation
- Serve as a vital resource and advocate for students and their families
