Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students and educators in an inclusive K-12 environment! Experienced Special Education Teachers are needed for several full-time contract positions working in supportive classrooms through June 2027. Multiple placements are available, including two Elementary ASD/CI classrooms, one High School ASD classroom, and one Resource room setting. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated multidisciplinary team and help empower students to reach their fullest potential.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan teaching license with CI (Cognitive Impairment) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement (active and in good standing)
  • Previous experience in structured special education settings, preferably with ASD or CI populations
  • Strong communication skills to build rapport with students, colleagues, and families
  • Collaborative attitude and adaptability when supporting diverse instructional needs
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere

Responsibilities:

  • Implement IEPs, accommodations, and modifications tailored to each students unique needs
  • Design and deliver engaging instruction to promote academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
  • Monitor student progress, complete data collection, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and guardians
