An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support elementary and/or secondary students with diverse learning needs. Youll work closely with fellow educators, administrators, and families to create individualized learning experiences, foster growth, and promote inclusion within the classroom.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field (state certification in Special Education required)
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills when partnering with general education teachers, support staff, and parents
- Ability to assess students using a variety of tools and modify curriculum to support unique learning needs
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
- Understanding of diverse instructional strategies and positive behavioral supports
- Commitment to cultivating an inclusive, encouraging classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and interventions tailored to student IEP goals
- Monitor student progress, collecting and analyzing data for ongoing educational planning
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights to support goal development
- Collaborate with school professionals and families to maximize student success
- Adapt teaching materials and instruction to ensure access for all learners
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and service delivery
