Special Education Teachers are needed for a summer session running from July 7th, 2026, through August 6th, 2026. Schedule:
- Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- 8:00 am 12:00 pm
Qualifications:
- Valid, active certification in Special Education (emergency or substitute permits will not be accepted)
- Experience teaching or working with students with autism or in self-contained classrooms preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to individual student needs
- Flexibility, dependability, and a positive, collaborative attitude
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in an autism-focused classroom setting
- Develop and implement lesson plans that accommodate a range of learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and teacher assistants to meet each students goals
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records as required
- Foster a supportive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and highlights
